Made to make you smile.

Carey is the local artist and mom behind Artwork by Carey, where bugs become tiny works of art, coffee mugs smile back, and familiar Frostburg scenes change with the seasons.

Equal parts goth and grannie, Carey makes colorful, whimsical art inspired by nature, motherhood, her imagination, and the community she loves. Painting is both play and a way of working through the noise of the world, turning whatever is on her heart and mind into something she can share with somebody else.

Her signature Monster Mugs are hand-sculpted resin creations with big personalities, each transformed into a strange little creature of its own. She also creates original paintings, stickers, whimsical botanical and nature-inspired art, and custom pieces.

And then there is Frostburg.

Carey paints the town she loves throughout the year, capturing recognizable Frostburg streets and places as they change through the seasons. Each year brings a new holiday card print edition, turning her paintings into little pieces of Frostburg that can be mailed away, given as gifts, or kept close to home.

Whether you find a tiny bug, a ridiculous mug, a familiar street, or something made just for you, Carey hopes you leave with something that makes you smile.
